This place is incredible. Never actually been to the restaurant but have ordered delivery from them countless times, always 20+ minutes early, order always perfect, experience has always been an 11/10. These guys know how to deliver on a midnight taco craving.
The food is incredible, super tasty, highly recommend asking for extra green salsa that stuff is addicting. Steak burrito amazing, tacos of all sorts are amazing I've tried almost all of them. Fish/shrimp tacos killer as well. Their plates are always solid. Literally anything you order will be delicious, early, authentic, and make you want more. Highly highly recommend. -

Ordered delivery twice and both times were solid. First was a burrito that was juicy and packed tightly. I got the chicken is one of the best burritos I've had in a while. The second order was carnitas tacos and again, delicious. Both orders came with a tasty container of both salsa verde and salsa roja.
My only gripe is there are a variety of meats available for the tacos but the burritos were chicken and beef only. I would have loved the carnitas in my second order in burrito form. -

My new favorite takeout restaurant! Everything I've ordered has been amazing... and delivery is always quick.

My sister, my friend, and I had such a good time! We love right down the street in East Harlem, but that was our first time really exploring the neighborhood. We tried a little bit of everything for brunch. Chips and guacamole, pancakes, grilled chicken, shrimp tacos, mahi mahi tacos, both types of horchatas, and finally the flan! We were STUFFED. We spent a good three hours in our seats, and could barely walk by the time we left.
Our server was so sweet. He provided ample recommendations, answered all of our questions, and made sure we had plenty of water. If you want true, authentic Mexican food- you have to come here! They're adding menu options often, and they have their own special way of making traditional favorites. As an enthusiast of Mexican food and culture, I was not disappointed. -

Long and short of it: The food was good. I was overcharged by $30. My bank is refunding me and the restaurant management has been responsive and cooperative about it.
Update:
I contacted Capital One and they show that there was a charge of $23.90 (the accurate bill) and one of $53.90 both posted to the account at the same time, and so they opened up a claim to refund me the $30 overcharge. At the same time as I was on the phone with my bank, Cristian C from Las Panteras Negras messaged me on Yelp and was extremely kind in his message, noting that they have a record of the same $23.90 and $53.90 transactions, and that they are happy to refund the $30 overcharge and they are not sure how the situation happened but apologize for the error. I really appreciate the time he took out to do this and it is comforting to know the restaurant is willing to cooperate with the refund process begun by my bank. It's unfortunately cost a good chunk of my morning to deal with, and it will still take time for the $30 to be refunded, and all that but at least the mistake is being dealt with by the restaurant in a professional and respectful manner.
Original post:
The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. I came for dinner by myself and had a michelada and the chilaquiles with chicken and the server was kind enough to bring me a flan on the house at the end.
I was set to give the restaurant more stars but upon reviewing my card history at the end of the month I have just seen that I was charged $53.90 which could not be correct for $12 chilaquiles even with the upcharge to add chicken and a michelada which could not have been more than another $8-12 at the most (I thought it was $8 but I know for sure I wouldn't of ordered a michelada that was insanely expensive). Even if he charged me for the flan that was supposedly "on the house" the charge is higher than it should be.
Factoring in tax and tip I still cannot see how the bill would have come out this high and I don't think this could be the amount I signed for on the bill or it would have stood out to me at the time. I am checking for the paper copy of it to address this with the restaurant and my bank. The math just doesn't add up.
I'm including photos of my charge, and photos of the (actually quite good) food I had, I'm sad this has marred a great experience but I am not sure how one person having chilaquiles and a michelada came out to a $53.90 bill.
I'm checking for the paper copy of my receipt and reaching out to the restaurant to see what has happened and contacting my bank. I'll update the review with how it goes.
I am so sad because I was really excited to have found a new spot to eat with really perfect chilaquiles - not too soggy and not undercooked either, and it is one of my favorite dishes!
